Your adventure begins in the rugged Wadi Bani Awf, where ancient stone villages cling to
cliffsides and the road twists through one of Oman’s most spectacular gorges. Visit the
enchanting mud-brick settlement of Balad Sayet — a village seemingly frozen in time —
before ascending to Jebel Shams, the highest peak in the Arabian Peninsula, for
sweeping canyon views that will take your breath away.
On day two, explore the terraced gardens and traditional falaj water channels of the
mountain village of Misfat Al Abrieein, a living example of Oman’s ancient agricultural
heritage. Descend to the historic city of Nizwa, once the cultural and political heart of
Oman, to wander its legendary souq and towering fort. Nights are spent in characterful
mountain accommodation, surrounded by cool air and silence broken only by the wind.

Itinerary
For a span of three days, take in the awe of Oman’s Majestic Mountain. You’ll begin at Wadi bani Awf and be privileged to feast your eyes on the sights of stunning Balad Sayet village, followed by a night jump in the region’s biggest articulation, Jebel Shams. Day two brings opportunities for exploration of Misfat Al Abrieein and the pages of history in Nizwa, with lodgings encompassed throughout the journey.
